BMD Cribs: Brendan Irving

Brendan Irving, BMD Designer, takes us on a tour of his carefully crafted space filled with found materials, vintage cinema books and varying ephemera.

My corner desk houses everything I need to remain organized and creative. It has storage shelves and plenty of space so I don't feel too crowded while I work.
“I have so many books and found objects I keep by my side as inspiration. I love collecting printed matter.”
I have everything from cigarette cards to matchboxes, and postcards from museums.
These vintage cinema books were a gift from my high school com-tech teacher who encouraged me to pursue design. Now that I work for BMD, it feels full circle as I recently started a project designing a book about Hollywood and cinema.

I really like how monochrome my set up is. Everything blends into the desk and feels cohesive.

I plan everything in a notebook from @takenotestore. Organization is key when managing multiple projects on the go.

This Polaris music poster from 2018 hangs in my hall. I love the texture and tactility of the screen print.

Finally, I have many plants throughout my home. They bring life to the space and a bit of nature indoors.
